About the Role

You will be responsible for leading a team to deliver an exceptional shopping experience in the community. As a Shift Leader, you’ll ensure smooth daily operations, prioritise customer and colleague welfare, and uphold high standards of service, presentation, and efficiency.

Your core focus is:

  • Coordinate the team to provide the easiest and friendliest shopping experience in the community.
  • Open/close the store, completing duty cover with meticulous decision-making for customer satisfaction, colleague well-being, and safety.
  • Act as the primary support point for operational queries when the Store Manager is unavailable.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to organise seasonal events, community initiatives, and charity activities, fostering an inclusive and engaging atmosphere.

You’ll also oversee:

  • Ensuring the store is clean, tidy, and well-presented.
  • Prioritising product replenishment based on customer needs.
  • Maintaining accuracy in shelving and pricing (point-of-sale labels and edge promotions).
  • Addressing overcharges promptly and preventing recurrence.
  • Proactively managing shopper queues for a seamless experience.
  • Coordinating staff breaks and shift scheduling to align with trade patterns.
  • Driving standardised store operations and implementing improvements.
  • Adhering to health and safety protocols and enforcing compliance.
  • Facilitating clear two-way communication with the team.
  • Continuously identifying operational improvements and sharing insights.

Above all, your commitment will always be to:

  • Punting customers first, personalising service to their needs.
  • Resolving queries warmly and efficiently.
  • Recognising and celebrating standout colleague performance.
  • Removing barriers that hinder excellent service delivery and escalating ongoing issues appropriately.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
