The Nitty Gritty (Read This First!)

We know most teaching job adverts spend half the page talking about the company before telling you what the role actually looks like.

So, to save you the scroll, here's exactly what you can expect when working with SmartaTutoring:

  • Remote Role – teach from home or wherever you work best
  • Part-Time Hours – minimum of 10 teaching hours per week, with opportunities to increase as we continue to grow
  • Evening & Weekend Lessons – students are taught weekday evenings (5pm onwards) and weekends (8am–10pm)
  • Consistent Students – teach the same students each week and watch their confidence grow over time
  • Flexible Structure – once your lessons are scheduled, you're free to organise the rest of your week however suits you
  • Monthly Pay – straightforward monthly payments
  • Resources & Systems – access to proven lesson structures, teaching resources and ongoing support
  • Professional Development – regular coaching, feedback and opportunities to improve your teaching
  • Career Progression – opportunities to take on additional responsibility as the business grows
  • Start Date – we're looking to welcome the right tutor as soon as possible

Who This Is For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You love helping students achieve things they never thought were possible.
  • You believe confidence is just as important as subject knowledge.
  • You enjoy building genuine relationships with students and parents.
  • You're always looking to improve your teaching and welcome feedback.
  • You take pride in delivering engaging, high-quality lessons every time.
  • You enjoy working independently whilst being part of a supportive team.
  • You care about making a real difference, not just completing another lesson.
  • You can teach both GCSE Maths and Science with confidence and enthusiasm.

Who This Is NOT For

This probably isn't for you if:

  • You're looking for a role where you can simply turn up and do the minimum.
  • You don't enjoy building relationships with students.
  • You dislike receiving feedback or developing your teaching.
  • You're uncomfortable teaching online.
  • You struggle using technology such as Zoom and online teaching platforms.
  • You see tutoring as just another hourly job rather than an opportunity to create real impact.
  • You're looking for something short-term with no interest in growing alongside a business.

Let's Talk Money

This role is designed for tutors who love delivering outstanding lessons whilst enjoying the flexibility that online teaching provides.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Us

SmartaTutoring exists to give students the confidence, clarity and academic support they need to achieve their potential—and to give parents complete confidence that their child is in the right hands.

We specialise in helping GCSE students improve by 2–4 grades in Maths, Science and English through expert teaching, structured support and high expectations.

We don't believe in average.

Every lesson should leave a student more confident than when they joined.

That's why we've supported thousands of students, have hundreds of five-star reviews and continue to grow year after year.

Now, we're expanding our tutoring team.

We've Got the Students. We've Got the Systems. We Just Need Exceptional Tutors.

We're building a team of passionate educators who genuinely care about helping young people succeed.

Our students are already committed to improving. Our parents are invested. Our teaching systems are proven.

What we're looking for now are tutors who can inspire confidence, explain difficult concepts simply and create lessons that students actually look forward to attending.

Reasons Why Teaching With Us Feels Different

  • Teach motivated students in a 1:1 environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships instead of managing behaviour.
  • Work remotely from wherever suits you.
  • Join a supportive team that genuinely values great teaching.
  • Ongoing coaching and professional development.
  • Flexible workload with opportunities to increase hours.
  • The opportunity to genuinely change students' futures.

And yes... receiving messages from parents saying, "My child actually enjoys Maths now," never gets old.

Is This One of the Best Online Tutoring Roles in the UK?

If you're tired of feeling like just another teacher...

If you want to focus on teaching rather than paperwork...

If you enjoy helping students achieve life-changing results...

And if you want the flexibility of working remotely whilst being part of a supportive, ambitious team...

Then this could be exactly what you've been looking for.

Why This Role Is Different

  • Our students want to be here. Parents genuinely value the support. The lessons are personalised.
  • You'll have the freedom to focus on what matters most—great teaching.
  • You'll be backed by proven systems, ongoing support and a leadership team committed to helping you become an even better educator.
  • This isn't about teaching as many students as possible.
  • It's about delivering lessons that genuinely change lives.
