Online Assistant

Online Assistant Role – Our Stores

Our stores thrive as fast-paced environments where every day is dynamic and filled with variety. As an Online Assistant, you’ll be the standout element that ensures our online customers enjoy a seamless shopping experience, receiving exactly what they need straight to their doorsteps via Sainsbury’s.


Eligibility

To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be of school-leaving age or older (check eligibility via GOV.UK)
  • If shifts include work before 6am or after 11pm, you must be at least 18 years old
  • Have Right to Work eligibility in the UK

Your Role & Responsibilities

Your core duties include:

  • Picking & delivering high-quality products ready for online orders, or offering brilliant substitutions if items are unavailable
  • Using a handheld device to:
    • Plan efficient routes through the store
    • Select items based on order requirements
    • Manage time effectively to complete tasks
  • Supporting key operational tasks, including:
    • Handling customer queries and resolving issues
    • Processing orders with accuracy
    • Assisting in loading vans for our Home Delivery Drivers
  • Proactively enhancing the customer experience through:
    • Promptly answering questions and providing assistance
    • Building comprehensive product knowledge
    • Offering tailored recommendations based on promotions
  • Operating flexibly across the store as needed
