Sainsbury’s Colleague – Shop Floor Operations Role
About the Role
Food warehousing and distribution colleague roles at Sainsbury’s don’t have to mean warehouse work—many involve working in a supermarket and a fast-paced warehouse setting to get products to our online customers as quickly as possible.
Key Responsibilities

Order Fulfilment
- Pick and select high-quality online orders on the shop floor
- Prepare products for direct delivery to customers’ doorsteps
- Provide brilliant substitutions when products are out of stock

Technical & Organisational Work
- Use a handheld device to navigate routes, assign pick tasks, and manage time efficiently
- Process customer queries and help organise van loading for home delivery drivers
- Maintain a flexible mindset to cover various store tasks as required

Customer Support
- Offer proactive assistance and expert guidance on products, services, and promotions
- Build deep knowledge of Sainsbury’s range to enhance customer experience
