Online Assistant – Shopping Team Sainsbury’s

About the Role
Our stores are the heart of local communities, delivering outstanding value, quality, and service. As an Online Assistant, you’ll be the driving force behind a seamless online shopping experience for our customers:
- Pick, select, and pack the best order-quality products from the shop floor.
- Offer brilliant product substitutions when items are unavailable.
- Route optimisation using a handset to quickly and efficiently pack orders.
- Fields customer enquiries, processes delivery requests, and helps prepare vans before drivers depart.
Key Responsibilities

Order Processing:
- Select and package high-demand products for online orders with precision and speed.
- Work efficiently to complete routes around the store, hitting targets while maintaining accuracy.
- Manage delivery preparation, ensuring vans are packed correctly and ready for collections.

Customer Support:
- Address enquiries with friendly professionalism and provide personalised advice on products and promotions.
- Proactively help customers, offering assistance where needed and answering questions effectively.

Store Adaptability:
- Thrive in fast-paced and physically demanding environments.
- Assist across the store as required—from running to finding substitutions.

Continuous Improvement:
- Build strong knowledge of our product range and services.
- Maintain the store’s cleanliness and efficiency, ensuring a smooth customer journey.

To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Achieved the school-leaving age in your country (current guidance here)
- If shifts involve hours outside 06:00 AM to 11:00 PM, you must be at least 18 years old.
