As an Online Assistant, you’ll be the special ingredient that supports a joyful shopping experience for our online customers, ensuring they get everything they shop for at Sainsbury’s.

Eligibility

You must:

  • Possess Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

What you’ll be doing

  • Picking and selecting the best quality products on the shop floor for online orders, or providing brilliant substitutions if products are out of stock.
  • Using a handheld device to plan your route, track tasks, and manage deadlines while working across the store.
  • Dealing with customer queries, processing orders, and assisting with loading vans for Home Delivery Drivers.
  • Supporting customers proactively—answering questions and offering personalised recommendations.
  • Building in-depth knowledge of our products, services, and promotions to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Working flexibly as required, covering various roles across the store.

You’ll thrive in an environment that demands:

  • Early morning starts (most shifts begin at 4am) and a fast-paced, physical, energetic workflow.
  • Independence and teamwork—working solo or as part of a dynamic team.
  • Authentic customer service skills—approachable, friendly, and eager to help.
  • Responsibility and initiative—taking ownership of tasks while solving problems efficiently.
  • Adaptability—ready to work across the store, flexibly and productively.
  • Technological comfort—using digital tools and systems effectively.
  • Attention to detail—keeping the store clean, organised, and customers delighted.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
