What are we looking for?
We’re looking for volunteers who are confident with maths (GCSE level or above) and enjoy helping young people learn. You might be a qualified teacher, a trainee teacher, a university student, or a professional who uses maths in your work — all are welcome.
What matters most is:
- Strong communication skills
- A friendly, encouraging, and patient approach
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Reliability and commitment
- Comfort using online tools such as Google Meet
You do not need formal teaching or tutoring experience — we’ll support you, and you can start by assisting sessions before leading if you prefer.

What will you be doing?
Help young people fall in love with maths.
Join us as a volunteer and help young people aged 9–16 grow in confidence. You can:
- Lead or support fun, interactive online maths classes
- Create exciting learning materials and mini-projects for our online learning platform
- Shape our curriculum by reviewing and improving lesson plans
Sessions run on weekday evenings during term time (typically 5–6pm or 6–7pm). We’re currently redesigning our maths programme over the summer, so the September timetable is being finalised — it’s an exciting time to join and help shape what comes next.
