Online Merchandiser - Retail - Up to £40k

Online Merchandiser – Retailer (Sussex-Based Position)

About the Role

Our client, a leading retailer, is seeking an [Online Merchandiser] to join their expanding team.

The role offers a competitive salary of £35k–£40k, plus benefits. The position is based in an office in Sussex, with 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home. This is a fixed requirement—flexibility for less than 3 office days will not be accommodated.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a highly analytical approach while managing multiple brands across online platforms.
  • Oversee stock levels and website merchandising strategies to enhance ROI (Return on Investment).
  • Collaborate with digital marketing teams to refine sales-driving initiatives and optimise campaigns.
  • Develop and execute online merchandising strategies, including profit margin management.
  • Work with Shopify (experience is beneficial) for platform optimisation.
  • Conduct forecasting, data insights generation, and daily/weekly reporting.
  • Align with the digital marketing team to manage the marketing calendar and optimise:
    • Product launches
    • Seasonal campaigns
  • Contribute to small to medium-sized eCommerce operations, demonstrating adaptability to evolving strategies.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in merchandising, preferably within an eCommerce role.
  • Strong skills in stock forecasting, ROI improvement, and performance reporting.
  • Proficiency with eCommerce platforms, particularly Shopify.
  • Ability to analyse data, derive actionable insights, and present findings.
  • Experience working within small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
  • Highly autonomous yet collaborative, able to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proactive, strategic mindset with a focus on data-driven decision making.
