About the Role
Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for a permanent Online SEND Teacher on behalf of a specialist education provider in Manchester. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced SEND Teacher, Online Teacher, SEN Teacher, or Special Educational Needs Teacher who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and other additional learning needs.
Working from an online learning environment, you will deliver personalised, high-quality teaching that enables learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals. This permanent, term-time-only teaching role offers an excellent work-life balance while allowing you to make a meaningful difference to vulnerable learners who require specialist educational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated online lessons aligned to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
- Teach and support pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, communication needs, and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive virtual classroom that promotes engagement and wellbeing
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning, behavioural, communication, and sensory needs
- Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records and reports
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, Learning Support staff, SEND professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Promote independence, confidence, emotional regulation, and positive educational outcomes

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Level 2 English and Maths
- Experience teaching children or young people with SEND, Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, learning disabilities, or additional needs
- Good understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, inclusive education, and person-centred learning
- Experience delivering online teaching or confidence using virtual learning platforms
- Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
