Online Tutor
Cosmo 1:1 Online Tutor
Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the leading online learning platform connecting K-12 students (US, Canada, and Asia) with tutors from top universities for personalized one-on-one lessons. As a tutor, you’ll set a flexible schedule teaching ESL students in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum.
About the Role
This opportunity is perfect for experienced educators looking to connect with students in an after-school learning environment. You’ll deliver 50-minute, 1-on-1 lessons at set times each week, creating a welcoming, engaging, and supportive learning experience. Reliability, professionalism, and kindness are key—our students thrive with tutors who are well-prepared, punctual, and energetic.
Key Expectations
- Independent contractor position – You set your availability.
- Base rate: $20 USD/hour, plus incentives and bonuses.

Responsibilities
- Provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction tailored to each student’s needs
- Update lesson availability timely in the Cosmo App
- Prepare and select age- and ability-appropriate materials
- Submit class feedback after every session
- Communicate professionally with parents and students
- Attend classes on time, in a quiet, private environment
- Maintain open communication with Cosmo staff
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: ✔ Bachelor’s Degree (any field) ✔ 3 years of experience teaching K-12 ✔ ELA (English Language Arts) subject expertise preferred ✔ Knowledge of K-12 ELA standards and curriculum ✔ Experience teaching ESL learners ✔ Teaching credential strongly preferred (but not mandatory)
Technical & Logistical Requirements: ✔ Fast, reliable internet (minimum 6000 (MHz) CPU) ✔ Windows or Mac PC with proper camera/facilities ✔ Private, quiet workspace with minimal distractions ✔ Commitment to minimum 6 months with Cosmo 1:1 ✔ Availability between 8 AM – 6 PM GMT (Mon-Fri) or 5 AM – 2 PM GMT (weekends) ✔ At least 20 hours of weekly availability ✔ Currently based in the UK
