Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalised one-on-one lessons.
About the Role
As a Cosmo 1:1 Tutor, you will:
- Deliver ESL instruction to students in Singapore and Hong Kong, following the Cosmo curriculum.
- Enjoy flexible scheduling that you set for consistent 1:1 teaching.
- Help students thrive in an After-school Learning Environment by being a role model, consistently prepared and kind.
This role is an Independent Contractor position.
Base rate: $20 USD/hour, plus additional incentives and bonuses.
Cosmo Teacher Responsibilities
- Provide personalised 1:1 instruction for students.
- Update your availability in the Cosmo App promptly.
- Prepare age-appropriate and ability-relevant lesson materials.
- Submit class feedback after every lesson.
- Communicate professionally with parents and students.
- Arrive on time, well-prepared, and professional for all sessions.
- Maintain proactive communication with Cosmo staff.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience teaching Grades K-12 English Language Arts (ELA).
- Familiarity with K-12 ELA standards and curriculum.
- Experience teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) learners.
- Teaching qualification preferred but not mandatory.
- Reliable technology:
- Fast internet connection.
- PC with a minimum 6000 CPU rating (Windows or Mac).
- Commitment to minimum 6 months of teaching.
- Availability between:
- 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM GMT on Monday–Friday
- 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM GMT on weekends
- Minimum of 20 hours weekly availability.
- Access to a quiet, private location.
- Passion for helping students learn.
- Currently based in the UK.
