Online Tutor

Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalised lessons.
About the Role
As a tutor for Cosmo 1:1, you will have:
- A flexible and consistent schedule (set by you)
- Opportunities to teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum
This role is ideal for experienced educators to engage with students in an after-school setting. Here’s what you’ll do:
- Provide one-on-one lessons scheduled weekly (each 50 minutes long) with the same students
- Build a welcoming and fun learning environment, fostering growth and confidence
- Demonstrate reliability as a role model by arriving on time, prepared, and with a passionate, kind demeanor
This is an independent contractor position with a base rate of $20 USD per lesson, plus additional incentives and bonuses.

Responsibilities
- Provide personalised 1-on-1 instruction for students
- Update your schedule in the Cosmo App promptly
- Prepare appropriate lesson materials tailored to the student’s age and ability level
- Submit class feedback after every lesson
- Communicate professionally and regularly with parents and students
- Attend classes on time in a professional environment
- Maintain open communication with Cosmo staff
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- 3+ years of experience teaching Grades K-12 in ELA (English Language Arts)
- Familiarity with K-12 ELA standards and curricula
- Experience teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) learners
- Teaching qualification (preferred but not mandatory)
- Technical requirements:
- Fast and reliable internet connection
- Access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU speed of 6000MHz
- Time commitment: Able to teach for a minimum of 6 months
- Availability:
- Weekdays (Monday-Friday): between 8 AM–2 PM GMT
- Weekends: between 5 AM–2 PM GMT
- Minimum of 20 hours weekly availability
- Access to a private and quiet teaching location
- A passion for helping students learn
- Currently located in the UK
