Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students in the US, Canada, and Asia—including Singapore and Hong Kong—with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalised lessons. As a Cosmo 1:1 tutor, you’ll enjoy a flexible, student-driven schedule, teaching ESL students using the Cosmo curriculum.
This perfect opportunity for experienced educators to engage K-12 students in an after-school setting in a 1:1 sphere. Lessons are 50-minute long and held at times you set weekly. Your role is to build a welcoming and fun learning environment, fostering growth while maintaining a passionate yet kind demeanour. Successful Cosmo 1:1 tutors are seen as reliable role models, arriving well-prepared, on time, and with a commitment to creating a space where students feel supported and inspired.
This position is for independent contractors. You can earn a base rate of $20 USD plus further incentives and bonuses.

Cosmo Teacher Responsibilities
- Provide personalised 1:1 instruction tailored to each student
- Update your availability in the Cosmo App promptly
- Prepare age- and ability-appropriate lesson materials
- Submit Class Feedback after every lesson
- Communicate professionally with both parents and students
- Attend classes on time from a professional setting
- Maintain open communication with Cosmo staff
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of K-12 teaching experience (specifically in ELA)
- Knowledge of K-12 ELA standards and curriculum
- Experience teaching ESL learners
- Preferred: Teaching qualification, though not required
- Fast, reliable internet with a Windows or Mac PC (minimum 6000 CPU)
- Commitment of at least 6 months to Cosmo 1:1
- Availability between:
- 8 AM–2 PM GMT (Monday–Friday), or
- 5 AM–2 PM GMT (weekends)
- Minimum of 20 weekly available hours
- Access to a quiet, private location
- Passion for supporting student learning
- Currently located in the UK
