Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalized lessons.
About the Role: As a tutor for Cosmo 1:1, you’ll have a flexible and consistent schedule, set by you. You'll teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum. Perfect for experienced educators to connect with students in an after-school setting.
Jobs and responsibilities
- Meet your students at set times each week for 50-minute 1-on-1 lessons
- Build a welcoming and fun learning environment
- Model reliability, arriving on time and prepared, with a passionate and kind demeanor
- Maintain professional communication with parents and students
Cosmo Teacher Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction
- Update availability in the Cosmo App promptly
- Prepare appropriate lesson materials tailored to each student’s age and ability
- Submit Class Feedback after every lesson
- Communicate professionally with parents, students, and Cosmo staff
- Ensure all lessons take place on time in a professional, private setting

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of experience teaching K-12 ELA
- Familiarity with K-12 ELA standards and curriculum
- Experience teaching ESL learners
- Teaching qualification preferred but not required
- Fast, reliable internet connection and a Windows or Mac PC (6000 min. CPU speed)
- 6-month committment to teaching with Cosmo 1:1
- Available between 8am–8pm GMT (Mon–Fri) or 5am–2pm GMT (weekends)
- 20+ hours weekly availability
- Access to a private, quiet location

Compensation and Terms
- Independent contractor role
- Base pay of $20 USD/hour, plus additional incentives and bonuses (Pay scaled based on qualifications.)
