Online Tutor

Remote Cosmo 1:1 Tutor Role (ESL K-12) – Flexible Teaching Opportunities

Join Cosmo 1:1, the leading online learning platform, connecting K-12 students in the US, Canada, Singapore, and Hong Kong with qualified ESL tutors from top universities and colleges. As an independent contractor for Cosmo 1:1, you’ll teach personalized 1-on-1 lessons using our structured curriculum.


About the Role

Ideal for experienced K-12 educators, this role allows you to:

  • Set your own flexible schedule, ensuring consistent weekly availability
  • Teach ESL students in Singapore and Hong Kong via online lessons
  • Foster a welcome, engaging, and supportive classroom environment for students

Lessons are held weekly in a 50-minute 1-on-1 session, and we expect tutors to act as professional role models—prepared, reliable, and kind.


Tutor Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction tailored to each student’s needs
  • Update your schedule in the Cosmo App promptly and accurately
  • Prepare ageless, appropriate lesson materials matching student ability
  • Submit Class Feedback after every lesson
  • Communicate professionally with students’ parents and Cosmo staff
  • Attend classes punctually and professionally in a quiet setting

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (in any field)
  • 3+ years of experience teaching K-12 ELA
  • Familiarity with K-12 ELA standards and curricula
  • Demonstrated experience teaching ESL learners (or similar multilingual education)
  • Preference for certified teachers, though status is not strictly required
  • Stable internet connection and access to a:
    • Windows or Mac PC
    • Minimum CPU speed of 6000
  • Commitment to at least 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1
  • Availability between 8AM–2PM GMT, Monday–Friday (or 5AM–2PM GMT weekends)
  • Rock solid reliability with 20+ available hours per week

Compensation & Terms

Independent contractor position paid $20/hour USD (base rate) with performance-based bonuses.
