Teach Online at Cosmo 1:1!
Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform connecting K-12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalised lessons.
As a tutor for Cosmo 1:1, you’ll have a flexible and consistent schedule of your choosing. Teaching ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum, this role is ideal for experienced educators to engage with students in an after-school setting.
Your sessions will be 50-minute 1-on-1 lessons, meeting with students at agreed times each week. Your responsibilities include building a welcoming, fun, and supportive learning environment, ensuring students grow with confidence and passion.
A core part of the role is acting as a positive role model—always arriving on time, prepared, and with a kind demeanor.
This position operates on an independent contractor basis. The base rate is $20 USD per hour, with additional incentives and bonuses available.

Cosmo 1:1 Tutor Responsibilities
- Provide personalised 1-on-1 instruction for students
- Update student availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
- Prepare appropriate, engaging lesson materials based on the student’s age and ability level
- Submit Class Feedback after each lesson
- Communicate professionally with parents and students
- Ensure attendance at all sessions on time, in a quiet and professional setting
- Maintain clear communication with Cosmo staff
Minimum Requirements
✔ Bachelor’s Degree ✔ 3+ years of experience teaching grades K–12 in ELA ✔ Familiarity with K-12 ELA standards and curriculum ✔ Experience teaching ESL learners ✔ Teaching qualification preferred but not mandatory ✔ Stable internet connection with access to a Windows or Mac PC (minimum CPU: 6000 models) ✔ Ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months with Cosmo 1:1 ✔ Availability between:
- 8 AM–2 PM GMT (Mon–Fri)
- 5 AM–2 PM GMT (Weekends) ✔ Minimum of 20 hours weekly availability ✔ Private and quiet teaching location ✔ Passion for guiding student learning ✔ Current location: UK
