Onshore HSSEQ Advisor – Aberdeen, UK Continental Shelf

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative HSSEQ function, focused on supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations as an experienced Onshore HSSEQ Advisor.

You will provide practical HSSEQ advice and support to both onshore and offshore teams, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure Major Accident Hazard (MAH) risks are managed and mitigated effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing HSSEQ advice and support to onshore and offshore operational teams
  • Supporting MAH, health, safety, and environmental risk identification and management
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, the safety case, and company management systems
  • Leading and participating in incident investigations
  • Delivering assurance activities, including audits and verification onshore and offshore
  • Supporting regulatory inspections and follow-up actions
  • Preparing HSSE reports and analysing performance data
  • Supporting the delivery of safety campaigns and HSSEQ initiatives
  • Conducting offshore visits to FPSO assets along with periodic travel

Expected skills and experience include:

  • Proven experience in an HSSEQ role within the UKCS, preferably as an operator or duty holder
  • Strong understanding of the UK Safety Case regime and offshore HSE legislation, including environmental legislation and permitting
  • Knowledge of Major Accident Hazard (MAH) and process safety management
  • Experience leading incident investigations
  • Hands-on experience in audit and verification programmes

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential);
  • Relevant offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET/FOET and offshore medical) for offshore work;
  • Risk assessment and incident investigation training (TOPSET preferred);
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications;
  • Degree or equivalent qualification (desirable);
  • Experience with Synergi or similar systems (desirable);

Commitment: This is an Aberdeen-based position with a requirement for attendance at the Westhill office (minimum 3 days per week) under the current hybrid working plan.
