Onsite IT Support Engineer – 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

About the Role
We are searching for a dedicated Onsite IT Support Engineer to act as the primary point of contact for customer IT issues. This role blends reactive support with proactive issue management, fostering strong customer relationships while upholding service excellence.
Job Title
Onsite IT Support Engineer – 12-month fixed-term contract
Salary & Location
- Salary: £**26,000.00 per annum
- Location: Cheadle (50/50 split between our office and customer sites onsite)
- Hours: Monday to Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Responsibilities
As an Onsite IT Support Engineer, your role will include:
- Providing onsite IT support at customer locations in Greater Manchester, resolving user issues efficiently.
- Acting as the first point of contact for customer IT incidents and service requests.
- Logging, managing, and updating all support tickets accurately within the helpdesk system.
- Ensuring daily updates to tickets, regardless of customer communication.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and basic networking issues.
- Escalating complex issues to senior engineers or project teams as necessary.
- Collaborating with the Projects Team on installations, upgrades, and infrastructure deployments.
- Proactively identifying potential IT issues and implementing preventative measures.
- Upholding IT security policies and reporting any suspended security incidents.

Requirements
We’re looking for a candidate with:
✅ Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer-facing IT support role. ✅ Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or Azure Fundamentals. ✅ Strong PC/laptop hardware knowledge and troubleshooting skills. ✅ Good fault-finding, problem-solving, and customer service abilities. ✅ Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems. ✅ Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and productivity tools, including: - Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, etc. ✅ Basic understanding of Active Directory. ✅ Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). ✅ Experience using IT service management / ticketing systems.
