An excellent opportunity for a keen and hard-working builders apprentice to work with a well-established employer - CDM Builders.
You would be involved in all types of building work.
Requirements
- Foundation apprenticeships are introductory courses that help young people get started in an industry. You do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience to apply.
- Anyone between 16 and 21 can start a foundation apprenticeship.
- If you're between 22 and 24, you can start if you:
- have an EHC plan
- are in care or have been in care
- are in prison or have been in prison
- Must be able to get to and from Ironbridge or live local for pick-up (future possibility of pick-ups from Shrewsbury in the next 6-12 months due to relocation).
- Reliable and hard working
- Keen to learn with a can-do attitude
- Ability to work logically and use initiative
- Attention to detail to maintain high quality standards
- Physically fit and awareness of site safety
- Organisation skills

Responsibilities
- You will be trained in many building skills as well as gaining support to achieve your apprenticeship level.
- Day to day tasks include labouring and hands-on learning of all types of building work:
- Bricklaying
- Block-laying
- Ground-working
- Plastering
- Roofing
- And more....
- Use techniques to carry out simple tasks and repairs associated with onsite trades.
- Use tools and materials alongside experienced tradespeople
- Follow health & safety practices on site
- Communicate with colleagues and customers professionally
- Prepare and maintain the work area
- Learn new skills daily through hands-on tasks
Benefits
- Salary: £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices: £8 per hour; upto 40 hours per week.
- Full-time position may be available on completion of the apprenticeship.
- Alternative progression to a Level 2 trade apprenticeship to gain further skills and qualifications.

About CDM Builders
Well established building company based in Ironbridge, serving the Shropshire area.
Over 20 years' experience in the building trade, delivering projects that include stone and brick house builds and extensions through to smaller scale general building work such as garden walls and plastering work. All work is delivered to a high standard.
Currently a sole trading business, looking for an apprentice to assist with all types of building work.
