Job Description: Open Source Intelligence Investigator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Investigator to join our dynamic team. As an OSINT Investigator, you will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting information from publicly available sources to support our organisation's objectives. You will play a crucial role in conducting research, monitoring online platforms, and extracting valuable insights to assist decision-making processes and mitigate potential risks.
The position is located at our offices in Chelsea Harbour. We kindly request that individuals who are not based in London refrain from submitting their applications.
Responsibilities:
- OSINT Research: Utilise various online tools, platforms, and databases to conduct thorough research and gather relevant information from publicly available sources. This includes social media, websites, forums, blogs, news articles, and other web-based resources.
- Data Analysis: Organise, evaluate, and analyse large volumes of data obtained through OSINT techniques. Apply critical thinking and investigative skills to identify patterns, trends, and connections that can contribute to a comprehensive understanding of potential threats or opportunities.
- Threat Assessment: Assess the credibility and reliability of gathered information to determine its relevance and potential impact on the organisation. Identify potential security risks, reputation threats, or other challenges that may arise from the analysed data.
- Monitoring and Alerting: Establish monitoring mechanisms to keep track of emerging trends, events, or developments that could affect the organisation. Create timely alerts and reports to inform relevant stakeholders of potential issues.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security analysts, legal teams, and management, to provide valuable intelligence and support strategic decision-making.
- Report Generation: Prepare comprehensive and concise reports detailing findings, analysis, and actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders. Present complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest OSINT tools, methodologies, and best practices. Continuously improve investigative techniques and contribute to enhancing the organisation's intelligence capabilities.
- Ethical Considerations: Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines when conducting OSINT investigations, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and respecting the boundaries of publicly available information.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an OSINT Investigator or similar role in intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, or law enforcement. Preferred but not essential.
- In-depth knowledge of OSINT methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in using OSINT tools and platforms, such as Maltego, Wireshark, or SHODAN.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to extract insights from diverse and complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey findings effectively.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and information security practices is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- High level of discretion and understanding of the sensitive nature of OSINT investigations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications in OSINT or intelligence analysis. Preferred but not essential.
- Experience with scripting or programming languages for data manipulation and automation.
- Familiarity with geospatial analysis tools for mapping and visualisation.
- Knowledge of foreign languages and cultural nuances for international investigations.
