The Role

The Apprentice Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) will be working towards becoming a registered ODP by gaining a BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice through our chosen Higher Education Institute and will become a successful registrant of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The Apprentice ODP will undertake an apprenticeship programme incorporating the integrated Degree Apprenticeship standards of an ODP. The apprenticeship programme combines academic and work-based learning. The Apprentice ODP will be fully supported to develop the skills required over the duration of the apprenticeship.

We will be holding a Q&A session on Monday 23rd March at 17.00 pm - 19.00 pm in the Education Centre on level 5, at Salisbury District Hospital. Come along and find out more about the role. There will also be a presentation at 18:10 pm. There will be a chance to meet some of the team and ask any questions about the role and the recruitment process. No need to pre-book.

About Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs)

Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) are registered healthcare professionals specialising in caring for people of all ages before, during, and after surgery. ODPs mainly work in the operating department but can also work in areas such as education, the Emergency Department, and the Intensive Care Unit. They work alongside other professionals and take the lead in ensuring a patient is safe throughout their journey in the operating theatre.
