The Opportunity

Are you an experienced water operations professional who wants to take ownership of critical clean water and wastewater assets across the Southern region? This is an opportunity to play a key role in the safe, compliant and efficient operation of Leep Utilities’ water networks, helping to protect service continuity, asset reliability and customer outcomes.

Leep Utilities owns and operates regulated and non-regulated multi-utility networks across the UK, including electricity, water and wastewater, heating, cooling and hot water services. We work on major developments across the UK and are focused on delivering reliable, straightforward connections through strong operational governance, customer focus and long-term asset stewardship.

As Operations Manager – Water (South), you will be accountable for the safe, compliant and efficient operation and maintenance of Leep Utilities’ clean water and wastewater assets within the Southern region. You will oversee planned preventative maintenance programmes, reactive response activity, contractor performance and operational reporting, ensuring standards are met and risks are effectively managed.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role where you will work closely with internal teams, contractors and third parties to ensure assets are maintained to a high standard, regulatory and licence obligations are achieved, and customer service levels are protected and enhanced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of water network operations across the Southern region, from point of connection through to end user.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, licence obligations, internal standards and operational controls.
  • Managing planned maintenance, reactive activity, asset condition reporting, risks, incidents and mitigation actions.
  • Maintaining accurate asset information, mapping records, as-built drawings and emergency response plans.
  • Overseeing contractor activities, site inspections, audits and handover requirements for new assets.
  • Working collaboratively with Project Delivery, Point of Connection and wastewater adoption teams.
  • Supporting the UK Water Operations Manager with operational reporting, enquiries and continuous improvement activity.
  • Taking part in out-of-hours emergency cover as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
