Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and motivated Operational Accountant to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
Role Summary
This is a proactive role to provide support to the Operational Finance accounting function across two factory product ranges. Role involves generating and maintaining accurate cost analysis to support the Senior Operational Accountant, the wider finance team and the business. To include management reporting, analysis and financial controls.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist departmental planning and forecasting cycles
- Assist in operational variance analysis
- Site cost analysis
- Sales and Inventory reporting and analysis
- Sales order and backlog reporting
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
- Assist in month-end close processes
- Balance sheet reconciliations (Stock etc.)
- Journal postings
- Meeting internal and external audit requirements
- Assisting with year-end standard costing and reporting
- Support the ECO (Engineering change orders) process & review of BOM’s/routings
- Support and oversee Perpetual Inventory team of 2
- Cross functional collaboration working across multiple levels of the organisation
- Any other ad hoc tasks as requested by Line Manager

You will be working with multiple stakeholders (both Finance and non- finance) across the business
Skills/Experience
Your previous experience is likely to include:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify priorities.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective problem solver with a positive and decisive approach.
- Strong communication skills, able to present complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experienced in manufacturing finance, including costing, inventory and margin analysis is desirable; other experience will be considered.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint; experience with ERP systems and Power BI advantageous.
