Operational Buyer - 4 Positions across our UK Sites | Rochdale | Bugle | Manchester | Halifax

What you will be doing

  • Purchase, call-off and order materials and services according to demand forecast, re-order points, contracts and/or agreements.
  • Independently or in collaboration with Group Procurement, source materials/services from vendors according to specification and as per defined value threshold.
  • Ensuring all relevant requests and requisitions are transformed into purchase orders (PO's) according to the defined buying channels by utilising preferred vendors, catalogues and contracts.
  • Ensuring timely purchases of goods and services while adhering to agreed terms and conditions from supplier framework agreements, quality standards and within agreed budget.
  • Challenge material cost by and identifying cost improvement opportunities within their value limits. Contribution to material savings target.
  • Responsible for resolving invoice discrepancies such as quantity deviations and price deviations.
  • Acting as first escalation point in case materials or services are not delivered at the right quality and quantity in accordance with contract/purchase order. Addressing any discrepancies directly with the supplier before escalating to the Category Manager.
  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of and commitment to procurement policies, procurement standards, procure-to-pay processes and the quality management system.

What you will bring

  • Operational procurement experience of 2+years
  • Structured and organised, and with the ability to prioritise tasks and deliveries daily.
  • Skilled in working with SAP/MS Office/Excel/JAGGAER
  • Ability to manage conflicts of interest.
  • Know how to work in larger procurement matrix setups with different types of stakeholders.
  • A natural curiosity and a desire to provide support and add business value.
  • Open, curious, result driven and pro-active mindset.
  • Problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Able to communicate (orally and written) in English.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
