Job Title: Operational Control Trainer (Water)
Location: Durrington, Worthing (Hybrid)
Contract Type: 12-month FTC/Secondment
Hours: 37
Salary: Up to £35k based on skills and experience
About the Role
The Water Operational Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering industry-leading training across the water operational function for Southern Water. This is undertaken by reviewing current training needs or future business solutions and developing comprehensive packages that set Southern Water's employees up for success. The trainer will utilize the Microsoft Office suite to develop and deliver industry-leading training to build competency in a variety of courses and applications. They are expected to maintain the content of these courses and future-proof them with regards to business needs.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- The standard delivery of these programs is a mixture of face-to-face in the Durrington Head Office and virtual learning where applicable.
- Requires a confident individual who can deliver regularly to a variety of new cohorts.
- Has a level of emotional intelligence and understands and can adapt to different learning styles.
- This could be representative of a new starter or someone who has been with the business for many years.
- As part of the induction program, they will be the face of Southern Water and expected to demonstrate the behaviors and values of the business.
- Accurately understand the training and development needs of different teams within Control.
- Able to exchange information and ideas in a concise and logical way.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt and be flexible in approach.
- Ability to adapt and adjust to different learning styles and the demands of the business.
- Able to provide 1:1 performance coaching for learners.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Requires understanding of different learning styles and delivery methods.
- Needs to be aware of, and utilize, technology in the delivery of training programs where appropriate.
- Strong IT skills.
- Communication skills using a range of media.
- Risk & Compliance.
- Understand SW industry context.
- Ideally, you would live local to our head office.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Experience in training needs analysis, training design and development, and training delivery.
Desirable:
- CIPD qualification with training focus or equivalent relevant experience.
