About This Role: Operational Governance Lead
JET’s Information Security organisation protects its cloud-native platform, serving millions of users. The Security Governance function ensures these systems stay secure and compliant by maintaining a faultless operational framework.
As the Operational Governance Lead, you’ll:
- Oversee the daily execution of JET’s governance framework.
- Keep policies, standards, and controls aligned with risk appetite, following frameworks like NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
- Be the connective bridge between:
- L1 Engineering (day-to-day technical work)
- L2 Risk & Compliance (risk assessment and policy adherence)
- L3 Audit (external validation and assurance)
Core Responsibilities
Maintain and operationalise JET’s security governance documentation, policies, and controls while aligning them with regulatory and risk-based frameworks, including:
- GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) alignment to frameworks like NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
- Running governance forums & working groups to:
- Document, track, and communicate decisions efficiently to engineering, risk, and compliance stakeholders.
- Evidence and control validation by:
- Coordinate evidence gathering across L1 and L2 teams.
- Support audit cycles and maintain a clear, accountable control registry.
- Cloud security standards by:
- Drafting and refining technical security standards for cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and third-party integrations.
- Collaborate with Engineering Leads to embed security into delivery workflows.
- Exception management & risk escalation:
- Track remediation plans with technical owners.
- Maintain visibility across the Three Lines of Defence and escalate risks proactively.
- KPI/KRI dashboards:
- Build and maintain dashboards to track:
- Control health
- Compliance posture for leadership awareness.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
We’re looking for a hands-on, execution-driven security professional with experience in:
- Solid Information Security GRC experience within a cloud-first or technology-led organisation, with proven ability to maintain governance frameworks operationally at scale.
- Working knowledge of security frameworks like NIST CSF and ISO 27001, and how they apply to:
- Cloud infrastructure
- Microservices & DevOps
- Modern engineering environments.
- Proven ability to bridge L1, L2, and L3 by translating audit/compliance requirements into actionable engineering tasks without creating friction.
- Excellent communication skills to:
- Explain governance & compliance requirements clearly, spanning technical engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- organised & deliver-focused personality, able to:
- Multi-task across several governance workstreams.
- Drive remediation to completion in a fast-paced environment.
- A data-driven approach to compliance tracking, including:
- Building real-time dashboards.
- Retaining trends from control data.
- Providing leadership with actionable insights.
