new Post Available – Public Health Directorate (NHSGGC)
An exciting opportunity exists within NHSGGC’s Public Health Directorate to provide strong general management support in the Improving Population Health section.
About the Role
The Post Holder will manage staff, account for all aspects of service delivery, and oversee budget and physical resources—ensuring Public Health Priorities and outcomes are met for the population of NHSGGC. The role will:
- Ensure Public Health objectives align with the NHSGGC Directorate’s vision.
- Support the Head of Service in implementing professional leadership.
- Establish and maintain systems and processes to meet Clinical, Corporate, and Staff Governance requirements.
- Drive performance monitoring, management, and evaluation of services.
- Lead risk management across multiple programmes, adhering to governance frameworks.
- Enforce Staff Governance policies and procedures in staff management.
- Ensure effective communication within a prioritised, high-demanding NHS environment.

Responsibilities
- Service Delivery Accountability – Oversee budgets, staff, and resources to meet performance targets.
- Governance Compliance – Ensure adherence to Clinical, Corporate, and Staff Governance standards.
- Systems & Process Management – Implement and refine workflows for efficient service delivery.
- Performance & Evaluation – Monitor progress and report against targets.
- Risk & Policy Management – Identify, assess, and mitigate risks aligned with NHS policy agendas.
Requirements
- Strong management, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good understanding of NHS policy, service frameworks, and public health priorities.
- Preferred but not essential: Public Health experience.
