Are you ready to help shape the future of our services and make a real impact for patients and colleagues? We are looking for a values-driven, enthusiastic leader to join us as an Operational Manager at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to continuous improvement and innovation. As Operational Manager, you will play a central role in coordinating business planning and service development, working alongside divisional leaders, clinical teams, and a wide range of partners.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, positive, and ready to take on new challenges. You will bring experience of managing people and services in a complex organisation, and you will be confident working with data, systems, and a variety of stakeholders. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to creating a great place to be cared for and a great place to work.
Role Overview
You will be at the heart of driving change, developing business cases, leading projects, and ensuring our services are efficient, effective, and always focused on the best outcomes for patients.

Our Locations
We operate from three main hospitals:
- Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow
- The Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI)
- Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal
As well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

- FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
- WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
- All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
