Operational Performance Manager – Up to £60K + Bonus
Location: Hybrid | Central London Type: Permanent Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
We’re partnering with a leading UK infrastructure programme and are seeking an experienced Operational Performance Manager to drive operational excellence across a complex, national delivery programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to improve operational performance, strike supplier excellence, and ensure critical programme targets are met.
About the Role
You’ll play a strategic pivot role in optimising performance, managing supplier delivery, and driving continuous improvements—keeping the programme on track to deliver tangible results.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end operational oversight: Manage performance across the full delivery lifecycle
- Supplier & contractor accountability: Hold teams to KPIs and SLAs, ensuring accountability
- Recovery & backlog initiatives: Lead efforts to resolve delays and reduce operational bottlenecks
- Risk & escalation management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks to on-time delivery
- Data-driven decision-making: Leverage operational insights to shape performance improvements
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with teams to implement streamlined processes
- Stakeholder reporting: Present actionable metrics and recovery plans to senior leadership

What We’re Looking For
✅ Essential Experience
- Proven track record in operational performance management within utilities, infrastructure, or service delivery
- Strong supplier and contractor management—contractual, commercial, and delivery-focused
- Deep understanding of KPIs, operational SLAs, and performance metrics
- Experience leading operational recovery plans or backlog reduction
- Exceptional analytical skills with a knack for turning data into actionable strategies
- Stakeholder influence – ability to drive change in complex, regulated environments

✅ Must-Have Skills
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on scalable solutions
- NEC contract experience (preferred, but not mandatory)
- Power BI or similar reporting proficiency (desirable)
- Proficient in risk analysis and management frameworks
✅ Industry Exposure (Ideal but Not Mandatory)
- Utilities, energy, or smart metering knowledge (highly valued)
- Experience in highly regulated sectors
