Operational Resilience Manager
Leading UK Clearing Bank | London (Hybrid, 3 days in office) | £75,000–£85,000

About the Role
This high-impact, senior position reports directly to the COO. The Operational Resilience Manager will lead the maintenance and continuous enhancement of our Operational Resilience Framework and Business Continuity Management (BCM), interpreting regulatory expectations into practical outcomes across the organisation.
You’ll oversee a direct report specialising in BCP deliverables, collaborating closely with stakeholders in Operations, Technology, Risk & Compliance, and Internal Audit to embed resilience by design—keeping the business always ready for disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the Operational Resilience capability, including:
- Identification of Important Business Services (IBS) and Impact Tolerances
- End-to-end mapping, scenario testing, and embedding lessons learned
- Own the Business Continuity Plan, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and resilient incident response procedures
- Support incident and issue management, including:
- Root cause analysis
- Regulatory impact assessment
- Timely remediation
- Assess and manage the resilience of critical third-party dependencies and supply chains, including exit and contingency strategies
- Drive continuous improvement in resilience control maturity, translating vulnerabilities into actionable remediation plans
- Collaborate with second and third-line functions for alignment, gap closure, and assurance
- Ensure resilience is integrated into change and transformation initiatives from the outset
- Own regulatory reporting processes, such as the annual Board-approved Operational Resilience Self-Assessment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness

Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in operational risk or resilience within banking or financial services
- Strong grasp of UK regulatory frameworks, including:
- PRA/FCA Operational Resilience policies
- FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme)
- PSR (Payment Systems Regulator)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across all levels
- Strategic thinking paired with operational discipline—comfortable working autonomously and proactively
- Resilience, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-evolving environment
