Job Description
Role: Operational Resource Planner (Technical Services)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours
- 37 hours per week
- Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Worker Type
- Hybrid worker – there will be an expectation that the postholder will work on average 2 days per week in the office, at Harvey Road
Salary
- Grade D - Starting Salary is £26,824 (Level one) rising to £27,694 (Level three) per annum
Location
- Harvey Road (NG8 3BB) will be the contracted base for this role, but the postholder will be expected to be able to travel to other sites across Nottingham, as needed.

About The Role
We’re looking for a highly organised Operational Resource Planner to join our Technical Services team at Nottingham City Council Housing Services. In this key role, you’ll support the Repairs Service Manager to help deliver a responsive, customer-focused repairs service by coordinating and scheduling work for trades colleagues and contractors to ensure the best use of resources and achievement of service targets.
You’ll manage busy daily schedules, allocate appointments, respond to urgent repairs, and adapt plans to meet changing priorities. Working with a range of systems, you’ll monitor performance, maintain accurate records, and identify improvements to support efficient service delivery. You’ll also provide essential administrative support, contribute to team projects, and work closely with colleagues and customers to resolve queries, including complaints.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience of coordinating, managing and maintaining appointments and diaries of large teams within a fast-paced and pressurised environment.
- Experience of communicating directly with members of the public in a business environment with good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively including active listening and questioning
- Experience of working with computerised and manual office systems
- Ability to present written or verbal information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of providing administrative functions.
