Operational Risk Analyst
Operational Risk Analyst - Opportunity to Grow in a Regulated Financial Services Environment
Overview
This role is well-suited for someone with a foundational understanding of operational risk who is eager to deepen their experience within a regulated financial services environment.

Key Accountabilities
Assist the Operational Risk Manager in delivering the following responsibilities:
Risk Framework Development
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the operational risk management framework

Internal Capital & Risk Processes
- Assist with the Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment (ICARA) process, including:
- Collection, validation, and analysis of risk data inputs
- Risk identification, assessment, and documentation across business areas
- Preparation of analysis for risk scenarios, harms, and operational resilience assessments
Risk Registers & Monitoring
- Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring:
- Risks are accurately recorded
- Controls, actions, and ownership are tracked
Emerging Risk & Incident Analysis
- Monitor and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and emerging risks
- Support analysis of incidents, errors, breaches, and near misses, including:
- Root cause analysis
- Tracking of remediation actions
Third-Party & Outsourcing Risk
- Assist in the oversight of third-party and outsourcing risk, including:
- Conducting due diligence
- Ongoing monitoring
Stakeholder Engagement & Risk Culture
- Engage stakeholders across the organisation to promote:
- Risk awareness
- A strong risk culture
Regulatory & Audit Support
- Provide analysis for regulatory, risk, and governance matters as required
- Support the tracking and closure of internal audit actions
Background, Experience & Competencies Required
Candidates should have:
- Previous experience in risk, compliance, audit, finance, or a control function
- Exposure to a UK-regulated environment, ideally within financial services
- Understanding of operational risk concepts, including:
- Risk identification
- Governance
- Controls
- Incidents

- FCA regulatory frameworks
- ICARA (Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment)
- IFPR (Implementing Fit and Proper Requirements) (noted as desirable)
