Coaching<span style="visibility: hidden">Role</span> – Service Delivery Manager (MJ Quinn)
Department Overview
Our Service Delivery contract with Openreach has grown from 10 engineers in 2011 to over 1,200 engineers working across the UK mainland. We deliver 25,000+ customer connections weekly through:
- Copper phone line provision
- Managed Install Broadband provision
- FTTP and PCP-only provision
Supported by experienced Area Managers and Coaches, our engineers operate safely and provide exceptional customer experiences.
Job Objective
The Support Coach delivers one-to-one coaching based on MIS reports and assists new engineers across allocated regions.
Key Goals:
- Improve safety and quality in network operations through targeted coaching
- Drive customer-centric behaviours
- Support process improvements, new ways of working, and equipment enhancements
- Manage re-assessments and licence restorations for field teams
Terms and Conditions
Working Location: Avon, Somerset & Devon
Reports To: Operational Support Manager
Hours of Work: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Mon–Fri)
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Travel Requirements: Yes (worksite-based coaching)
Holiday: 33 days (including Bank Holidays)

Key Responsibilities
- Promote professional standards: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and values.
- Monitor compliance: Escaliate and resolve non-conformance reports.
- Safety first: Maintain MJ Quinn’s Safety Always Matters ethos to protect yourself, colleagues, and communities.
- Coach for excellence: Maximise engineer performance via:
- Quality-focused coaching (safety, technical competency)
- Skill development for new and experienced field staff
- Product updates/training (new solutions & problem-solving)
- Leverage systems: Use FPQS for visit logs and issue resolutions.
- Technical support: Assist engineers remotely for customer commitments.
- Assess performances: Conduct post-training evaluations and field accreditation programmes.
- Quality checks: Oversee engineers’ work under operational direction.
- Stay compliant: Follow MJ Quinn’s Quality Standards, Handbook, Policies (including data security).
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Actively uphold Safety Always Matters by proactively:
- Maintaining audit-ready safety records.
- Keeping RAMS (Risk Assessments), PPE and documentation up-to-date.
- Reporting incidents and hazards.
- Leading by example in on-site compliance.

Person Specification
Ideal Candidate: ✅ Proven experience coaching telecoms engineers. ✅ Strong technical working knowledge of telecommunications. ✅ Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills. ✅ Commitment to continuous improvement.
