Role: Operational Technology (OT) Governance Manager
Location: Sheffield, UK Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
About the Role
Knowledge, skills, and experience must include:
Key Requirements
-
Demonstrable experience in OT security governance, policies, standards, and controls within industrial critical environments, including:
- Manufacturing
- Utilities
- Building management systems
- Transport
- Oil & gas
- Or similar sectors

Strong working knowledge of the IEC 62443 series, with practical application of:
- Zones, conduits, and segmentation principles
- Security levels and system requirements mapping
- Secure development lifecycle (SDLC) considerations for OT systems

Proven track record of:
- Building an OT security framework (or major components)
- Driving adoption across multiple sites/teams
- Experienced in writing and maintaining:
- Policies
- Standards
- Control requirements
- Governance processes (e.g., exception management, risk acceptance, periodic reviews)

Ability to translate technical OT security requirements into clear, implementable standards and assurability criteria

Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across:
- Engineering functions
- Technology teams
- Risk management
Nice-to-Have

Familiarity with related technical frameworks/standards:
- NIST CSF (NIST Cybersecurity Framework)
- NIST SP 800-82 (Guide to Industrial Control Systems)
- ISO/IEC 27001
- CIS Controls
- NERC CIP (where relevant)

Experience with:
- OT security tooling
- passive asset discovery
- OT network monitoring
- secure remote access solutions

Experience supporting:
- Audits
- Regulatory reviews
- Internal control testing in OT environments

Certifications such as:
- GICSP (Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professionals)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control)
- IEC 62443-related training/certifications
