Operational Technology (OT) / Cyber Security Consultant
Location: London, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast or Melbourn (Hertfordshire) Salary: £45,000 - £105,000 + excellent benefits Levels: Consultant, Senior Consultant & Principal Consultant Working Arrangement: Hybrid (client site, office, and remote depending on project)

To meet the growing demand for Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security, their specialist Cyber Security practice is expanding, and they are recruiting consultants at multiple levels (Consultant through Principal Consultant).
Role Overview
This opportunity invites talented professionals to join a respected OT Cyber Security team, dedicated to safeguarding Operational Technology (OT)—the foundation of Critical National Infrastructure. You’ll engage with a wide variety of clients, offering expertise in securing:
- Industrial control systems
- Operational Technology environments
- Connected infrastructure across sectors like energy, utilities, transport, manufacturing, water, oil & gas, and defence

Your responsibilities will vary based on experience level but may include:
- Delivering technical assessments
- Designing secure OT architectures
- Leading client engagements
- Developing cyber security strategies
- Supporting vast digital transformation programmes
Senior and Principal Consultants will also:
- Lead project teams
- Manage client relationships
- Contribute to business development
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control System (ICS) cyber security consulting engagements.
- Conduct OT cyber risk assessments, security reviews, and maturity assessments.
- Advise clients on securing:
- SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)
- PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
- RTUs (Remote Terminal Units)
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Design secure OT architectures, network segmentation, and industrial security solutions.
- Support clients with regulatory compliance and cyber security governance.
- Develop OT cyber security strategies and remediation roadmaps.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in cyber security, engineering, and digital transformation.
- Engage trusted relationships with client stakeholders and present technical recommendations.
- (Senior and Principal levels will focus on leading project delivery and mentoring junior consultants.)

Required Qualifications & Skills
Candidates from both IT and Operational Technology backgrounds are encouraged to apply if they have honed significant cyber security expertise. Whether you are a seasoned consultant or transitioning from industry, applications are welcomed.
Ideal candidates will possess experience with:
- Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), or Industrial Cyber Security.
- SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), or Process Control environments.
- OT security architecture, industrial networking, or security monitoring.
- Cyber risk management, security assessments, and security governance.
- Industrial IoT (IIoT) technologies.
- Standards and frameworks, including:
- IEC 62443
- NIST CSF
- ISO 27001
- NCSC CAF
- NIS Regulations
- Critical National Infrastructure sectors such as:
- Energy & Utilities
- Manufacturing
- Transport
- Water
- Oil & Gas
- Nuclear
- Defence
Soft skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
(Experience within a consultancy environment is beneficial but not mandatory.)
