Operational Technology (OT) / Cyber Security Consultant
Location: London, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast or Melbourn (Hertfordshire) Salary: £45,000 - £105,000 + excellent benefits Level: Consultant, Senior Consultant & Principal Consultant Work Arrangement: Hybrid role (client site, office, and remote)

As demand for Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security grows, they’re expanding their specialist Cyber Security practice and seek talented consultants at all levels, from Consultant through to Principal Consultant.
Role Overview
Join a highly regarded OT Cyber Security team, advising organisations on protecting the operational technology that powers critical national infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering engagements across diverse sectors: energy, utilities, transport, manufacturing, water, oil & gas, and defence.
- Working with client sites, offices, and remotely based on project needs.

Depending on your level, you’ll:
- Conduct technical assessments
- Design secure OT architectures
- Lead client engagements
- Develop cyber security strategies
- Support digital transformation programmes
Senior and Principal Consultants will additionally:
- Lead project teams
- Manage client relationships
- Contribute to business development
Responsibilities
Deliver OT/IoT cyber security engagements, including:
- Operational Technology and Industrial Control System (ICS) security assessments
- OT cyber risk assessments, security reviews, and maturity assessments
- Advisory services for securing SCADA, PLC, RTU, and Distributed Control System (DCS) environments
- Designing secure OT architectures, network segmentation, and industry-specific solutions
- Supporting compliance with regulatory frameworks and cyber security governance
- Creating OT cyber security strategies and remediation roadmaps
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (cyber security, engineering, digital transformation)
- Building trusted engagements with client stakeholders and presenting technical recommendations
- Managing project delivery and mentoring junior consultants (Senior/Principal levels)
What We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates from both IT and Operational Technology backgrounds who have demonstrated expertise in cyber security. Experience from a consulting or industry setting is valuable, though neither is mandatory.

Essential Experience
- Experience with Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), or Industrial Cyber Security
- Knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, DCS, or Process Control environments
- Familiarity with OT security architecture, industrial networking, or security monitoring tools
- Expertise in cyber risk management, security assessments, and security governance
- Experience with Industrial IoT (IIoT) technologies
- Proficiency with industry security standards including:
- IEC 62443
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
- ISO 27001
- NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF)
- NIS Regulations

Note: Ideally suited for candidates pursuing a transition into consulting or experienced professionals clarifying a structured progression.
