Operations Analyst
Location: Polar Speed Distribution Ltd, 7 Chartmoor Road, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4WG Hours: Monday to Friday, 0800–1700 Duration: Permanent Working Pattern: 40 hours a week

Key Responsibilities
Working within the Polar Speed department, you will primarily focus on:
- Analysing and interpreting logistics data to support cost-effective, efficient, and high-quality solutions.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to support modeling, client implementation, and process improvements.
Core Tasks
- Conduct detailed logistics analyses and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimisation through data evaluation and scenario planning.
- Collate and verify data across the business to ensure reliability, integrity, and accuracy.
- Align analysis with business goals and KPI targets.
- Develop statistical and financial models using appropriate software to:
- Identify cost savings (e.g., improving stops per vehicle/hour).
- Analyse logistics processes for optimisation.
- Recommend targeted improvements based on research findings.
- Monitor and report logistics costs to track performance.
- Partner with managers or stakeholders to propose effective logistical solutions.
- Attend planning reviews and change processes, preparing data as required.

Reporting & Trend Analysis
- Set up and maintain regular reports, covering route planning statistics, associated costs, and logistics trends.
- Use data to track logistics trends and recommend actionable changes.
- Benchmark logistical activities against best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Benchmark performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).

Specialised Knowledge & Requirements
- Advanced Excel proficiency – Ability to:
- Analyse and manipulate data.
- Extract meaningful insights for decision-making.
- Supply chain or logistics experience is preferable, though relevant analytical or planning roles may also qualify.
