Department: Core Operations
Location: Zinc - London
Compensation: £40,000 - £45,000 / year
Description
We’re hiring an Ops Analyst to own the continuous operational layer of Account Management, the systems, data quality, process health, and maintenance work that keeps the AM function running smoothly.
This role exists so Account Managers can stay focused on relationships and revenue, while net-new operational build work stays with the dedicated build resource. You won’t be originating new projects from scratch. Instead, you’ll take ownership of what already exists: keeping it healthy, making it better over time, and spotting issues before they become bigger problems.
You’ll sit in Core Ops, but your day-to-day focus will be the AM team. That’s deliberate. It means you stay closely connected to the wider operational context at Zinc, new tools, changing systems, evolving infrastructure, while acting as the operational partner for Account Management.
This is a role for someone who likes owning live processes, improving what’s already in motion, and bringing clarity when things start to drift. You’ll need strong analytical judgment, good stakeholder instincts, and the confidence to hold scope: if something is genuinely net-new, you’ll help define it clearly and hand it over rather than absorbing it yourself.
If you’re excited by process ownership, operational quality, and making existing systems work better every day, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities 🗝️
-
Own the operational layer for Account Management ⚙️
Take responsibility for the ongoing health of the AM operational environment. That means maintaining the systems, reporting, and processes that the team depends on, and making sure important operational work doesn’t degrade over time.
-
Maintain data integrity and traffic lights 📊
Monitor data quality across the AM reporting stack, including HubSpot, Sigma, and connected tools. Maintain AM traffic lights as a standing responsibility, catching issues and anomalies before they surface in reviews or create downstream problems.
-
Keep key operational processes healthy 🌿
Own the ongoing maintenance of recurring operational processes like the Great Reshuffle, including account distribution, capacity balance, segment mix, and renewal allocation. Flag drift early and help keep the model working as intended.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

-
Improve existing workflows 🔀
Look at existing AM processes and workflows with a critical eye. Identify where improvements would add value, and own small-to-medium changes end to end. Where something larger or genuinely new is needed, write a clear brief and hand it over for build.
-
Support post-launch project handovers 📑
Take on ownership of operational projects once they’re live. This could include areas like customer health scoring, AutoRenewals, and other AM workflows that need ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and iteration after launch.
-
Act as the first point of triage 🕵️♂️
Be the first operational filter when something in the AM tech stack isn’t working across tools like HubSpot, Gong, Fini, Zendesk, and Sigma. Identify what’s gone wrong, assess the risk, understand whether it overlaps with other systems, and route it clearly to the right team where needed.
-
Partner closely with the AM team 🫶
Stay embedded in AM standups and day-to-day conversations. Help the team distinguish between what needs fixing, what should be routed elsewhere, and what sits outside scope. Build trust as the person the team goes to first for operational issues.
-
Hold the boundary of the role 🗿
This role is about maintaining and improving what already exists. It is not about absorbing every operational problem or drifting into net-new build work. Strong judgment on scope is essential to making the role successful.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 🚀
Hard Skills
-
Operations and process ownership ⚙️
You have around 3 years of experience in operations, business analysis, revenue operations, or sales operations, ideally in a SaaS or tech environment. You understand what it means to own a process over time, not just complete a task.
-
Analytical problem solving 🕵️♂️
You’re comfortable working with data, spotting anomalies, investigating root causes, and making sound judgments about what needs fixing versus what needs escalating.
-
Reporting and systems fluency 📊
You’re comfortable using tools like HubSpot, Sigma or other BI tools, and spreadsheets to monitor operational health and improve performance. SQL literacy is a strong advantage.

-
Operational improvement 📈
You can assess existing workflows and identify where small or medium improvements will add value. You know how to improve what exists without unnecessarily redesigning everything from scratch.
-
Issue triage and prioritisation 🤒
You’re good at understanding operational issues quickly, judging their impact, and deciding the right next step — whether that’s fixing, escalating, routing, or documenting clearly for someone else to pick up.
-
Curiosity about AI and automation 🤖
You’re interested in how AI and automation can improve operational work, and you’re excited to use tools that make systems and teams more effective over time.
Soft Skills
-
Stakeholder communication 🗣️
You communicate clearly with different kinds of stakeholders and can translate between commercial and operational or technical contexts.
-
Scope discipline 🫡
You’re confident holding boundaries. You can push back when work should sit elsewhere, and you don’t automatically absorb every request that comes your way.
-
Reliability 🤝
You’re organised, dependable, and motivated by keeping important operational work healthy over time.
-
Judgment 🫷
You know when a problem is worth solving structurally, when a tactical fix is enough, and when something should be escalated or handed over.
-
Pragmatism 👍
You focus on useful, effective improvements rather than overengineering. You care about making things work better in practice.
