Operations Associate - Hedge Fund
A highly regarded alternative investment manager is seeking an Operations Associate to join its London-based team. This is a broad, hands-on role offering exposure across trade support, reconciliations, portfolio oversight, and interaction with investment professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily trade life cycle, ensuring timely trade matching and settlement across counterparts.
- Investigate and resolve trade, cash, and position discrepancies.
- Perform daily P&L, cash, and portfolio reconciliations.
- Strong communication skills to be a point of contact for brokers, custodians, etc.
- Support portfolio managers and traders with operational queries and issue resolution.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and operational controls.
- Provide flexibility across the wider operations team as required.

Candidate Profile
- Graduate with keen interest working in a Hedge Fund or 1-5 years' experience within Operations, Middle Office, Trade Support, or a similar function.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and asset classes, including equities, derivatives, FX, fixed income, and other listed products.
- Exposure to reconciliations, cash management, settlements, and portfolio servicing activities.
- Demonstrable interest in process automation and operational efficiency.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with front-office stakeholders.

Salary
- For a Graduate: £30,000 - £45,000
- For an Experienced Hire: £45,000 - £65,000
- Strong discretionary bonus potential subject to company and individual performance
