Senior Assembly Operative – Global Data Centre Support

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Assembly Operative, you will support the full lifecycle of data centre hardware operations, including installation, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning. This role involves hands-on work with:
- Compute resources
- Storage systems
- Networking infrastructure
You will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment & Maintenance
- Deploy new hardware (servers, storage, networking equipment) to scale data centre capacity
- Perform physical repairs and hardware upgrades on existing infrastructure
Troubleshooting & Optimisation
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware, connectivity, and configuration issues
- Relocate or reconfigure hardware in response to operational demands
- Decommission and recycle outdated equipment while adhering to company sustainability policies

Network & Automation Support
- Conduct network maintenance, including cabling and port testing
- Employ hardware/software tools and automation workflows in daily operations
- Maintain accurate records of activities (asset tracking, configuration updates)
Process Improvement & Safety
- Contribute to 5S initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with technical teams to coordinate hardware replacements
- Document all repair and maintenance activities (including system configurations)
- Participate in emergency response scenarios
- Strictly adhere to safety, security, and operational standards
Essential Criteria
The ideal candidate holds or is pursuing:
- A technical diploma or certification in:
- Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- IT hardware
- IT infrastructure
- Preferred: Prior experience in data centre or IT hardware environments
- Technical proficiency:
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
- Familiarity with network components
- Soft skills & aptitude:
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow multi-step instructions in English
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to travel for local data centre placements

Physical Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, you must be capable of:
- Lifting and manoeuvring: Up to 50+ lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs)
- Precision tasks: Handling small/complex components
- Physical endurance: Frequent standing, bending, and movement in confined spaces
- Environmental resilience: Operating in elevated temperature and noise levels
