Operations Assistant

Location: Swansea (On-site)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £15.59 per hour
Contract: Temporary until 30th September 2026

We are recruiting for an Operations Assistant to join a busy laboratory team within a well-respected public sector organisation based in Swansea. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering accurate and efficient administrative and operational support.

Working within the laboratory, you will play a key role in ensuring samples are accurately received, processed, recorded, and dispatched in line with established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving samples and accurately logging them onto laboratory systems
  • Registering information and data onto internal databases and laboratory systems
  • Arranging the dispatch of samples and associated documentation
  • Ensuring all records are maintained accurately and updated in a timely manner
  • Cleaning and preparing glass sample pots and laboratory equipment
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the laboratory
  • Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times
  • Working closely with laboratory and operational teams to meet deadlines and service requirements

About You

We're looking for individuals who are highly organised, reliable, and able to work accurately in a busy environment.

You may have experience in:

  • A fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment
  • A busy restaurant or commercial kitchen
  • Data entry or administration-focused roles requiring high levels of accuracy
  • A detail-oriented operational or processing environment
  • A scientific, laboratory, or technical background (desirable but not essential)
