Operations Assistant
Operational Assistant - Sport Full-time, Permanent Salary: £25,528 per annum (pro rata), plus an additional pro rata shift allowance of £2,100 per annum
Summary
The University of Exeter is seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join their Sports Office team as an Operational Assistant. Based across St Lukes Sports Centre, Cornwall House Outdoor Swimming Pool, and the Sports Park (Streatham Campus), this role includes supporting the Duty Manager, maintaining high standards of safety and service, and covering essential health and safety requirements within three sport and outdoor facilities.
About The Role
This full-time, permanent position requires immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support across three sports sites, covering the Duty Manager during periods of leave or sickness.
- Ensure the safe, efficient running of facilities, including lifeguarding (essential qualifications recognized), pool maintenance, and equipment setup.
- Deliver customer-centred service at all times, maintaining high standards in cleanliness and user experience.
- Handle administrative and front-of-house duties with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols at all times.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
✔ Hold or be willing to obtain a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) ✔ Between: Obtain a Pool Plant Operators Certificate and a First Aid at Work qualification – training provided once contracted if absent ✔ Experience in a customer-focused environment dealing with diverse groups
