Operations Assistant Bank

Join Fortrea’s Clinical Research Unit in Leeds

What if the skills you’ve built in hospitality, retail, customer service, or another fast-paced, people-focused job could contribute to bringing new medicines to life?

At Fortrea’s Clinical Research Unit (CRU) in Leeds, life-saving medicines start their journey. You’ll help answer the critical question: Will this new medicine be safe? If you thrive in hands-on work with clear procedures in a dynamic environment and value flexibility in your schedule, this could be your opportunity.

This is a bank (0-hours) position, meaning work is volunteered based on study schedules and clinic demand. You’ll be based at our office location (Drapers Yard CRU), just a 7-minute walk from the train station.

Shifts run Monday to Sunday, including weekends, twilight and night shifts, depending on availability. During busy periods, you may work up to 37 hours per week, though hours vary weekly based on operational needs.

About the Role

This is a unique entry point into a career within clinical trials—even without a scientific background! Fortrea provides full training to develop the technical skills you’ll need.

What you’ll bring:

  • A good standard of general education (including Maths & English)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

If you’re practical, curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, you’re already a perfect fit.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
