Role Summary
Accelerated Payments is seeking a highly motivated Operations Associate to join our growing Operations team. This role sits at the heart of our invoice finance business and is responsible for ensuring the smooth, accurate, and compliant execution of operational processes across client onboarding, invoice funding, payment processing, reconciliations, and client servicing.
The successful candidate will gain extensive exposure to invoice finance, receivables funding, and working capital solutions, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career within financial services, fintech, trade finance, or operations.
Working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, you will engage daily with clients, debtors, banking partners, and internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. You will play a key role in helping businesses access funding quickly and efficiently while ensuring all operational, compliance, and settlement activities are completed to the highest standard. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine interest in understanding how invoice finance products support business growth and cashflow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Onboarding, KYC, CDD & AML
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding of new clients to ensure a timely, compliant, and efficient experience.
- Conduct KYC and Customer Due Diligence checks for new clients and debtors.
- Review and verify onboarding documentation, including identification documents, bank statements, and supporting information.
- Perform ongoing AML monitoring and investigations in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate KYC and AML records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory obligations.
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence reviews for high-risk clients where required.
- Identify and escalate politically exposed persons (PEPs), adverse media findings, and other risk indicators.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to obtain outstanding information and documentation.

Invoice Processing & Client Operations
- Support the processing and funding of client invoices through the Accelerated Payments platform.
- Review debtor information and supporting documentation to support funding decisions.
- Validate invoice details and supporting evidence before funding or notification.
- Liaise with clients and debtors to resolve operational queries and ensure smooth processing.
- Train and support clients in the effective use of the online platform.
- Maintain accurate records, audit logs, and operational documentation.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage invoice-related communications via email and telephone.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently, escalating where appropriate.
- Work closely with Sales, Compliance, and Management teams to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Payment Processing & Settlements
- Manage daily reconciliations across multicurrency client collection accounts.
- Allocate incoming funds accurately to the relevant invoices and transactions.
- Liaise with clients regarding reconciliations and payment allocations.
- Communicate with banking partners regarding settlements, account activity, and operational queries.
- Monitor available funds and support invoice purchasing activities.
- Execute invoice funding transactions and ensure settlements are completed within bank cut-off times.
- Perform transaction calculations and prepare supporting reports for management approval.
- Produce regular operational and client reporting.
- Maintain settlement instructions and payment records in line with internal controls.
- Manage the operations mailbox and ensure timely responses to client and stakeholder queries.
- Track invoice due dates and undertake soft collections activity where required.
- Prepare transaction, reconciliation, and delinquency reports for senior management.
- Process non-funded payments accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential Experience
- 1–3 years' experience in Operations, Client Operations, Financial Services, Payments, Settlements, Fintech, Banking Operations, or a similar role.
- Experience working with KYC, CDD, and AML processes.
- Experience in payment processing, reconciliations, cash management, or multicurrency environments.
- Strong client-facing communication experience via email and telephone.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a regulated environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within invoice finance, factoring, receivables finance, asset-based lending, trade finance, banking, or fintech operations.
- Understanding of working capital solutions and how invoice finance facilities operate.
- Experience working in a startup, scale-up, or rapidly growing business.
- Experience collaborating with Sales, Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams.
- Experience supporting international clients or cross-border financial transactions.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- AML or Compliance qualifications (e.g., ACAMS) are advantageous but not essential.

- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
- Experience using CRM, onboarding, compliance, or financial systems.
