Operations & Business Support Administrator
π Gateshead | πΌ Permanent | π’ Fully Office-Based | π° Β£28,000 + excellent benefits
We're working with a long-established, global organisation in Gateshead to recruit an Operations & Business Support Administrator. This is a varied, fast-paced role at the heart of the business, supporting senior leaders, HR, and wider operational teams.
With a strong culture of internal promotion, low staff turnover, and excellent long-term stability, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career within a supportive and well-structured organisation.
π Working Pattern
- This is a fully office-based position with no hybrid working.
- 36 hours per week - Flexible start and finish times available
- Standard hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:20am - 4:30pm and Friday: 8:20am - 1:30pm (early finish every week!)
- Free on-site parking
- Due to location, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport

π The Role
You'll provide key administrative and operational support across multiple areas of the business, working closely with Directors, Senior Leaders, HR, and wider teams.
This is a highly varied role where no two days are the same - ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving, and being a central point of support within a busy office environment.

π Key Responsibilities
HR & Employee Administration
- Support employee lifecycle administration
- Prepare contracts and HR documentation
- Maintain accurate employee records
- Support onboarding and employee engagement activities
Executive & Business Support
- Provide diary, meeting, and coordination support to senior leaders
- Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Book travel including flights, hotels, rail, taxis, and car hire
- Coordinate meetings, events, and training sessions
- Support employee engagement activities
- Arrange catering, refreshments, and event logistics
Office & Facilities Administration
- Manage shared inboxes and general enquiries
- Maintain office supplies and meeting spaces
- Coordinate vehicles, servicing, and contractor activity
- Support internal communications and office coordination
Reporting & General Administration
- Maintain calendars and schedules (travel, holidays, events)
- Produce reports and business documentation
- Raise purchase orders and support invoicing
- Assist with environmental and operational reporting
π€ About You
Experience
- Background in Administration, Business Support, HR Admin, or Executive Support
- Experience managing diaries, meetings, and travel arrangements
- Confident producing reports, documents, and presentations
- Strong stakeholder coordination experience
Skills & Attributes
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional, discreet, and service-focused
- Proactive with strong problem-solving ability

- Full UK Driving Licence
- Occasional local travel/errands if required
- Able to commute to Team Valley, Gateshead daily
