Construction Operations Director

📍 This role is based in the Ivory Coast

Our client is a leading engineering, construction and infrastructure contractor delivering some of Africa's most complex building and infrastructure projects. We are partnering with them to appoint a Construction Operations Director to lead the delivery of major new-build projects across Ivory Coast.

This is a role for an accomplished construction leader who thrives in complex project environments and understands what it takes to deliver major developments safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will provide strategic leadership across multiple high-value projects while ensuring operational excellence, commercial discipline and exceptional client satisfaction.

Please note: We will only be able to consider candidates who have worked for a recognised main contractor delivering large-scale new-build construction projects. Experience gained solely within consultancy environments will not be suitable for this position.

Position Overview

This is a senior leadership role requiring an individual who can successfully manage both the strategic and operational aspects of major construction projects. You will be expected to focus on three key areas.

  • Leading the successful delivery of complex new-build projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Driving operational performance across multiple projects by maintaining strong control of programme, forecasting, commercial performance, resource planning, procurement strategy and risk management.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and senior stakeholders while leading high-performing project teams capable of delivering exceptional project outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
