Operations Director (Maternity Cover), Solving Kids' Cancer

Lead Operations & Governance for Solving Kids’ Cancer UK

Chief Executive Reporting Role

Drive the operations, governance, and compliance framework enabling Solving Kids’ Cancer UK to fulfil its mission for neuroblastoma-affected children and families.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this critical leadership position ensures efficient, compliant, and sustainable charity delivery. Your broad scope includes governance, risk, HR, IT, data protection, and organisational operations—delivering strategy through strong systems, policies, and processes.

As the Company Secretary, you’ll collaborate with the CEO and Board of Trustees, advising on governance, regulatory adherence, and best practices. As a member of the Leadership Team, you’ll:

  • Oversee key operational functions
  • Lead cross-departmental projects
  • Deputise for the CEO when required

About the Role

We seek a strategic, organised, values-driven leader with deep experience in charity operations, governance, and compliance. You must demonstrate success in maintaining efficient, compliant, and well-run organisations while supporting effective Board-level decision-making.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
