Water Technologies – VWT is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Water Treatment Chemicals Operations Engineer to join our field-based service team. The successful candidate will provide best-in-class service to customers through on-site corrective and preventative maintenance, chemical water treatment support, and after-sales technical and commercial assistance. This role is responsible for managing existing chemical treatment contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting customer water systems safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical water treatment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining professional relationships with clients and internal teams. What will you be doing... Deliver on-site service, chemical treatment analysis, monitoring, and account management to existing customers. Provide Legionella control services and ensure compliance with ACOP L8. Offer recommendations to customers for best working practices and operational efficiency. Manage accounts in line with budgets and attend client review meetings. Initiate water treatment programs for new accounts and commission dosing/control installations. Train site operators on Hydrex products and Legionella awareness. Compile, maintain, and audit site log books and complete risk assessments, work reports, and documentation in a timely manner. Offer feedback on product performance and contribute to future product development. Identify opportunities to quote for parts, consumables, plant upgrades, and refurbishment work. Communicate progress, issues, or risks to line management and collaborate with the appropriate sales teams. Observe and enforce company and client Health & Safety policies and personnel policies. Undertake any other reasonable work-related tasks as requested by senior management. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the application of technical experience to resolve issues. You will work primarily with your own team and directly impact the end customer’s experience, requiring tact, diplomacy, and a professional approach at all times. Qualifications What we are looking for... Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry qualification (desirable). Practical knowledge and experience of chemical water treatment, company products, applications, and water treatment markets. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and internal teams. Punctual, professional, and customer-focused. Ability to work independently in a field-based role. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with attention to detail. Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
