About the Company Alfanar Energy UK is developing the >£2 billion Lighthouse Green Fuels second-generation Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Teesside. The facility is currently the most advanced in the UK and will be one of the largest of its kind globally once operational. With engineering design nearing completion and government SAF legislation advancing, it’s an exciting time to join us as our project gathers pace.

The Role We're currently seeking an experienced individual to come on board in London on a staff basis as Operations & Maintenance Director. This is a key role for us as we scale the team to take on the expanding scope of the project and shift from FEED into EPC phase, and will be responsible for assisting the business with the implementation and ongoing management of the operational and maintenance processes and procedures related to UK Projects. The successful candidate will take the lead on the Management of Plant & Operational matters, and display strong leadership and technical guidance.

Responsibilities Accountable for all Operational issues relating to plant performance, O&M Budgets, maintenance and safety, liaising and guiding the Plant Managers as appropriate. To become the Company’s Champion of Operational Excellence – continuously challenging the plant to improve performance and efficiency Works closely with Plant Managers and Operations Managers on site to manage and rectify performance issues Engages with the Stakeholders, Environment Agency, HSE and other relevant industry bodies to ensure best practice is achieved on all sites Works with the SHEQ department to advise on operational matters as required for the implementation of relevant Quality Standards, such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 Supports the design development of new plants to ensure that key operational requirements are included within the design process. Leads the development of Reliability, Availability and Maintenance (RAM) strategies. Responsible for the development and ownership of O&M / OPEX budgets. Provides plant operations input into The Planning Application process, the Environmental Permit application and COMAH Report Assists the UK Country Manager with 3-5 year strategy. Specifically setting goals and objectives for the plants in terms of Operational performance, environmental, health & safety and personnel matters To assist the UK Country Manager with the creation and implementation of a new Integrated Management System (IMS)

Experience Engineering degree 15+ years experience in petrochemical, oil & gas or energy industries Extensive previous leadership experience operating refineries and/or complex process plants Current knowledge of UK legislation relating to the operation of refineries / process plants Demonstrates a background of identifying and implementing a methodology of continuous improvement in the workplace Previous management of Plant mobilisation and early year operational experience
