The Role - Operations Manager - Royston
As Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for the overall performance of the manufacturing operation, ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, to the highest quality standards, and within budget. Working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams, you will drive efficiency, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and support the ongoing growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop production, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Drive operational performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining high quality standards.
- Manage resource planning, capacity, and production performance.
- Support supply chain and inventory optimisation.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

About You

- Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong background within electronics, electronic manufacturing, electromechanical manufacturing, or complex engineering environments.
- Experience leading manufacturing operations within a regulated or high-quality production environment.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing scale-up.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Commercially aware with strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
